In a few words ...
The backbone of this cuvée is purity. The aim is to preserve the fruit throughout the wine's life, without influencing it by aging in traditional methods (wood, concrete, etc.). Vinification and ageing take place partly in Wine Globes, small 200-liter glass containers. This cuvée is part of Xavier Vignon's more general project to preserve the purity of wine through innovative vinification and ageing methods. Blend of vintages: 2015 - 2016 - 2017 and 2018 (1/4 each).
Black cherries and plums appear alongside notes of cedar and leather on the nose of Cairanne Arcane La Temperance. It's full-bodied (15% alcohol), but not too heavy, with silky tannins, peppery notes and even brighter raspberry nuances on the lingering finish. Given its structure and concentration, it should keep for at least 4-5 years.

The appellation Cairanne is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Xavier Vignon and its 15 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
