It was to play a decisive role in the development of our appellations and soon became the driving force behind the village's economy. In 1960, the founding president was succeeded by Henri Rougon. After encouraging the winegrowers to expand their plantings, for over thirty years he, along with the entire board of directors and a team of technicians, pursued a rigorous policy with the primary objectives of striving for quality and promoting our Appellation d'Origine Protégée wines. In this spirit of continuity, he was succeeded by Alain Ignace and his board of directors, who in 1993 embarked on a quality initiative with a view to obtaining the international "ISO 9002 quality" standard, guaranteeing the regularity of the company's production process. This certification, obtained in August 1996 and confirmed each year, covers cultivation methods, harvesting, vinification and product marketing, and truly symbolizes the quest for quality undertaken in past years and the determination of the Beaumes de Venise winegrowers to pursue it in the years to come, so that our wines continue to retain the typicity and natural character that have made them such a success to date. In 2000, the quality approach was extended to include the environment, and set out the rules of conduct to be followed in order to reconcile economic success, the sustainability of family-run businesses, and respect for environmental values. And finally, in 2010, in order to communicate to the public the efforts made by the winery's members and to highlight the work accomplished in this area, President Claude Chabran and his Board of Directors had all the winery's member farms qualified as "Agriculture raisonnée" (sustainable agriculture), which have now been awarded the equivalent of "Certification Environnementale" (environmental certification). On the other hand, some operations have chosen to take the process a step further by moving towards organic farming certification. Since 2011, mechanical harvesting has been authorized for some of our appellations: AOP Côtes du Rhône, Ventoux, and IGP. Muscats, crus de Beaumes de Venise and Vacqueyras are harvested by hand.
