The winemaker
Agamy's story
The Agamy winery was founded in 2016, following the merger of the Bully, Quincié, Vignerons Foréziens and Coteaux du Lyonnais wineries. Today, there are more than 500 winemakers and collaborators working across the entire terroir.
Each grower has his or her own story, but all are seasoned professionals. The land of some estates boasts more than two centuries of history.
The Agamy vineyard
The vineyards of the Agamy winery cover more than 1,300 hectares, mainly located in the territory of expression of the Gamay grape. The vines cover the Coteaux du Beaujolais, as well as the Monts du Beaujolais, on the volcanic terroirs of the Côtes du Forez.
In all, the Agamy winery's vineyards cover the terroirs of 95 communes. Gamay accounts for 95% of Cave Agamy's production, making it the region's leading producer of this grape variety.
The wines of Cave Agamy
Beaujolais wines from Cave de Bully
The farms that participate in the Agamy winery span the entire southern Beaujolais vineyards. The estates cover 660 hectares and 48 communes. The Cave de Bully, which manages this part of the terroir, was founded in 1959.AOP Beaujolais and Coteaux du Lyonnais wines are vinified at Cave de Bully, before being bottled at Cave Agamy.
Les Coteaux du Lyonnais de la Cave de Saint Bel
The Cave de Saint Bel was created in 1956, by winemakers wishing to pool production tools for the range covering the entire Coteaux du Lyonnais appellation area. It currently represents more than half of this appellation. The Cave de Saint Bel processes the vines of 140 hectares, cultivated by 90 winegrowers.
Côtes du Forez and Cave de Trelins
The Cave de Trelins represents a territory of 70 hectares, spread over 17 communes. It participates in the production of IGP Comtés Rhodaniens and AOP Côtes du Forez wines. The vineyards lie between the Loire River and the foothills of the Massif Central. Founded in 1959, it alone accounts for more than half of the plots in the Côtes du Forez appellation.Wines from the Agamy winery
Cave Agamy offers an infinite range of wines, thanks to the work of the more than 500 winemakers involved in the company. You'll find Beaujolais crus, as well as Beaujolais Village, Coteaux du Lyonnais and Côtes du Forez appellations. The wines are red, rosé and white, made from Gamay or Chardonnay grapes.
Part of the Agamy winery is also dedicated to IGP Comtés Rhodaniens and VMDQS (Vins Mousseux de Qualité Supérieure). Wines from the Agamy winery are marketed under four brands: Signé Vignerons for the mass retail sector, Le Chat Rouge and Jasper for new markets, and Louis Tête for the traditional circuit, as well as for export.
