MDCV
(12 customer reviews)
The MDCV group comprises four wineries: Château de Berne, Château Saint Roux, Château Les Bertrands and Ultimate Provence. The head office is located in the commune of Le Cannet des Maures, in the Var department of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region. The vineyards lie at the heart of the Plaine des Maures Natura 2000 nature reserve. This terroir is home to Hermann's tortoise, discovered by the zoologist of the same name, a protected species that attracts many curious visitors to the region. The estates of the MDCV Group produce mainly rosé wines from Provence, but also white wines and rosés. Find out more

The winemaker
Berne Castle
The Château de Berne vineyard covers 143 hectares, protected by 690 hectares of forest. Located in the Haut Var, the estate takes advantage of cool nights to ensure slow, optimal ripening of the grapes.
Château de Berne produces wines of all three colors, with a predominance of rosé. The wines are characterized by a solid structure, great aromatic richness, and delicate freshness and finesse.
Château Saint Roux
The Château Saint Roux vineyard covers 40 hectares of vines. It produces five organic wines of the three robes.
Château Saint Roux Rosé is an AOP Côtes de Provence. The wine is complex, always fresh and sparkling.
Cuvée Friponne is a rosé wine from the Pays des Maures, part of the IGP Maures. It's a fresh, particularly supple wine, reflecting the nature of this terroir.
Finally, the Le Pigeonnier cuvée is the only one available in all three dresses.
Château Les Bertrands
The Château des Bertrands vineyard covers 80 hectares. It produces Côtes de Provence rosé wines whose aromatic complexity is highly appreciated. The nose blends white-fleshed fruit, such as pear and peach, with more exotic notes. The palate is fine and elegant, finishing on a delicate salty mineral note.
Château des Bertrands red wine is also a Côtes de Provence wine, made from a blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. It's a light, fresh wine, well-structured and always well-balanced.
Still under the Cötes de Provence appellation, Château des Bertrands white wine is a blend of Rolle (Vermentino) and Ugni blanc grapes. It's a fresh, highly aromatic wine, where white fruits mingle with aromas of white flowers.
Ultimate Provence
The Ultimate Provence estate produces wines of the three robes, from its 46-hectare vineyard, entirely in AOP Côtes de Provence and planted mainly with Syrah. The estate is in organic conversion.
Its expressive, delicate wines take advantage of the wild, unspoilt environment to magnify the aromas so particular to this part of southern France.
The rosé wine is a blend of Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache noir and Rolle. The red wine is a blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The white wine is made from Rolle grapes alone.
