The winemaker

Estate creation: 1904 Surface area: 25 ha Production: around 1000 hl Average age of vines: 30 years Yield: 35 to 40 hl/ha Soil: sandy loam on marly limestone Grape varieties: Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle Maturation: Oak tuns for reds, enamelled vats for rosés and whites. Location: Domaine de la Vivonne is located on the hillside above the medieval village of Le Castellet, close to the sea. Around La Batisse, the vines are planted in terraces. Most of our Mourvèdres are planted in restanques. Modernization work has been undertaken since the estate was acquired in 2011, to ensure that it remains one of the jewels in Bandol's crown. The vineyard: perpetuating a traditional culture with manual harvesting. The soil is ploughed without weedkillers or synthetic fertilizers. These vines are de-stemmed and thinned out to leave just one bunch per shoot, expressing all its quintessence.
