The winemaker

The history of Domaine de la Croix

Domaine de la Croix was founded in 1882 by Monsieur de Vrégille. He was the founder of the village of La Croix Valmer. The vines soon produced wines of the highest quality, earning them the Côtes de Provence Cru Classé designation.

The twentieth century was not kind to Domaine de la Croix, as it was abandoned. It wasn't until 2001, when it was bought by the Bolloré group, that it was restored to its former glory, requiring colossal investments. Today, Domaine de la Croix has regained its full potential and ability to produce delicious wines.

The Domaine de la Croix terroir

The Domaine de la Croix terroir is drenched in sunshine and benefits from maritime influences that bring that favorable sea air to the vines. The soils are fairly heterogeneous, but benefit from a dominant sandy-schist subsoil, which enables the roots to penetrate deep into the soil. As a result, the vines are able to seek out water and do not suffer from periods of drought. This particularity favors the production of complex, fine wines.

Domaine de la Croix has invested in an avant-garde 3,500 m² winery. This modern facility enhances wine-making performance, with latest-generation equipment enabling absolute precision in winemaking. The winery is buried under 8 meters of earth, so as not to detract from the aesthetics of the site.

The wines of Domaine de la Croix

Domaine de la Croix produces red, white and rosé wines.

Cuvée Irrésistible du Domaine de la Croix - Blanc

Cuvée Irrésistible du Domaine de la Croix Blanc is a wine of great freshness. It is made from vines planted on the maritime border, La Croix Valmer and the Presqu'île de Saint Tropez, a series of sandy-schist slopes. The wine is a sumptuous lemon-yellow color. The nose is a blend of white-fleshed fruit aromas, with a touch of minerality. The palate offers lemony, slightly saline notes, with a long, elegant finish. Domaine de la Croix Blanc's Cuvée Irrésistible is best served between 8 and 10°C with a fish dish, such as swordfish with lime zest.

Cuvée Éloge du Domaine de la Croix - Rosé

Cuvée Éloge du Domaine de la Croix rosé is a gourmet wine from the sandy-schist slopes of the maritime border, La Croix Valmer and the Presqu'île de Saint Tropez. Its color is a very pale pink. The nose is expressive, with bouquets of vine peaches and red fruits. The palate is generous and round. Serve chilled, at a maximum of 8°C, but never iced. A perfect match with salt-crusted sea bream and roasted fennel.
