The winemaker
Located in the heart of the Côtes de Provence and the Maures plain, the Château Demonpère property has been cultivated since the 15th century and produces Côtes de Provence AOP and Côtes De Provence AOP Notre-Dame des Anges wines (Rosé, Red and White) as well as Olive Oil (6 varieties).
Magnificent estate at the foot of the Massif des Maures and Notre-Dame des Anges, full of charm with its 144 hectares in total including 32 hectares of vineyards, 17 hectares of olive groves and nearly 90 hectares of Mediterranean forest, on a protected site with exceptional fauna and flora.
Acquired at the end of June 2011 by Yves JOURNEL (formerly known as Le Domaine de La Pardiguière), this property was in the process of being abandoned and a lot of work had to be done, as much on the cultural level as for the farm buildings. Priority was given to restructuring the vineyard.
In August 2012, the estate changed its name to Le Château Demonpère, committed to the conversion to organic farming for the entire vineyard, while it has been farming its olive groves in certified organic farming since the beginning (Certifying body Bio Ecocert).
" ... I came here to cultivate the AUHENTIC... "Marcel Pagnol (Jean de Florette). Also deliberate conviction of the owner operator to develop sustainable development functions within the domain (photovoltaic panels, etc).
Its splendid cellar of sale dates from 1492, is an old sheepfold transformed into wine storehouse in the course of the history.
