Appellation Quincy

The Quincy AOC, 100% white, 100% sauvignon

Quincy is an appellation in the Loire Valley, extending over 300 hectares spread between the communes of Quincy and Brinay. Located near Bourges, it is set in an area with little relief, at a maximum altitude of 125 metres.

The single grape variety of the AOC is the Sauvignon, a white grape variety grown throughout the world. It was introduced to the region quite early, in the Middle Ages, by the monks who tended the vines at the time. The vineyard is exposed to a semi-continental climate, relatively dry and warm. The soils of the appellation, meanwhile, are mostly composed of sand and gravel.

Tasting characteristics of Quincy wines

The white wine produced within the Quincy AOC has a rather light golden robe. The nose diffuses typical sauvignon aromas, with bush, blackcurrant bud and white flowers. On the palate, sauvignon is still very aromatic, we recognize spices, honey and apple. It is a very fresh, fine, supple wine with a superb harmony.

Quincy can be enjoyed with asparagus, seafood, fish, grilled or in white sauce, as well as with goat cheese, for example a crottin de Chavignol, also a regional product.
