Appellation Montlouis-sur-Loire
Discovering the Montlouis-sur-Loire AOC
Located opposite the AOC Vouvray, on the left bank of the Loire, the AOC Montlouis-sur-Loire offers 380 hectares of vines, located on plateaus or on gently sloping hillsides. The wines can be produced in the communes of Montlouis-sur-Loire, Lussault-sur-Loire and Saint-Martin-le-Beau.
The chenin, also called pineau de la Loire, is the king of the appellation. The vines are south-facing, and benefit from a temperate oceanic climate with continental influence. The soils are diverse: clay, sandy and stony.

Montlouis dry
The dry white wines of the appellation offer a beautiful straw yellow coat. The nose is floral and fruity, with scents of bitter almond, bergamot and verbena. After a few years, exotic fruit flavours such as mango and lychee develop. On the palate, the wine is vivid and fresh. The dry Montlouis is ideal as an aperitif, with cold meats, or white meats, especially with a blanquette of veal. As for cheeses, goats are its best allies.Montlouis moelleux

Sparkling wines have fine bubbles. The nose diffuses notes of apples, brioche and dried fruit. The palate is round and thirst-quenching. Montlouis bubbles can be enjoyed as an aperitif, with oysters or with desserts. It will be a marvel with a galette des rois or a lemon pie.
