The winemaker
The terroir of Domaine Yannick Amirault
Since the 2000s, Domaine Amirault has decided to confine itself to around 20 hectares spread over Bourgueil and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. The aim is to ensure complete control of the vines, giving them all the care they deserve. The winegrowers are therefore very demanding when it comes to the plants, while they intervene very little in the wine: a classic method that guarantees completely authentic products.
Yannick Amirault wines: a powerful blend of balance and freshness
Following lengthy vinifications, Domaine Yannick Amirault offers some excellent bottles, including "Bourgueil Les Quartiers 2019" and "Les Malgagnes 2019". The former is made from a Cabernet franc that's over forty years old: it's advisable to let it age for a year or so to reveal its full potential. As for the second, its cherry color and complex, full-bodied notes invite immediate tasting.
