The winemaker

Eric and Marc Taillandier embarked on their winegrowing adventure in 1989: fresh from university, they planted 8 hectares of vines in the heart of the Loire Valley's kingdom of dry whites, in an exceptional Premier Cru: the Savennières appellation, a white wine made from Chenin blanc grapes! They subsequently added to their range, and their estate now comprises two vineyards covering around 15 hectares: both spread over rocky, often steep hillsides, one in the commune of Savennières, the other in Beaulieu-sur-Layon. Their vines include other white grape varieties, as well as red ones, and produce, alongside the AOC Savennières, an AOC Anjou rouge, as well as a mellow AOC Coteaux du Layon! The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process is traditional.
