The winemaker

The story of Domaine des Petits Quarts began in 1887, when the Godineau family settled in Bonnezeaux. From generation to generation, the domaine evolved to become the appellation's benchmark. It was under the impetus of Jean Pascal that the estate's letters of nobility arrived, most notably in 2004, when his cuvée Malabé 1996 was voted "best sweet wine in the world" at the world competition in Brussels. Domaine des Petits Quarts systematically made it to the podium of competitions, often winning gold. Jean Pascal, who is retiring in 2021 without succession, is handing over this beautiful vineyard to an association of five local families. Accompanied by the historic team and new recruits, we do our utmost every day to ensure that the grapes are ever more beautiful every year. The first harvest was awarded 7 medals. Important awards for the whole team, who are committed to perpetuating our great tradition of dry, sweet and syrupy wines made from this noble grape variety, Chenin.
