The winemaker

Since 1991, passion has been at the heart of the Villargeau family estate. When Jean-Fernand and François Thibault acquired the vineyard, it had been completely ravaged by phylloxera. After a few years' work, they set about reinstating the vines on the Giennois hillsides. The terroir is ideal for both white and red wines. Sauvignon benefits from the flint, Gamay and Pinot Noir from the clay-limestone soil. The 20 hectares of vines are still looked after by the two founders and their sons, who joined them in 2000. The next generation is already ready to take over and continue the family's ascent.
