The winemaker
Domaine de la Renaudie is actually divided into several parcels several kilometers apart. It covers 30 hectares, 12 of which are in the Touraine appellation, while the remaining 18 are in the Chenonceaux AOC. It's worth noting that very few winegrowers are lucky enough to have vines planted in this famous Chenonceaux appellation, which was recently created (2011) in homage to the Château and has a surface area of just 100 hectares.
It's in this privileged context that Domaine de la Renaudie applies its know-how, honed over several generations. The soil is predominantly clay-limestone, and the vines have an average age of 40 years. These are precisely the right age for optimal grape concentration, and as we all know, without good grapes... no good wines!
Naturally, the estate has adopted its own environmentally-friendly approach to vineyard management. It adheres to the specifications of Terra Vitis, a very strict environmental certification for the work to be carried out in both vineyard and winery. Through this commitment, the estate protects the health of its vines and soil, but not only that. In fact, this certification encompasses a whole range of efforts to guarantee the health of the farm manager, the teams, the surrounding inhabitants and, of course, the customers.
Charlotte, representing the new generation at the time, controls every stage in the production of her wines. She makes great Touraine wines, while making her operation sustainable and respectful of nature...
