Domaine de Bellevue
(4 customer reviews)
Domaine de Bellevue is the stronghold of Jérôme Bretaudeau. Since 2001, the winemaker has built up his estate, bit by bit, taking over plot after plot. Today, it covers 9 hectares of the Pays Nantais and four communes: Gétigné, Cugand (on the other bank of the Sèvre Nantaise, in the Vendée), Clisson and Vallet (among the wine region's leading towns). The making of Domaine de Bellevue wines
The wines of Domaine de Bellevue are typical Muscadets.
A rare Savagnin from the Jura region completes the blend. Jérôme Bretaudeau uses original winemaking techniques, maturing in concrete eggs, stainless steel vats, foudre, barrels and amphoras. This is a veritable experimental winemaking and ageing park. The winemaker practices natural winemaking, which is consistent with an organically farmed estate.

The Muscadet wines from Domaine de Bellevue are renowned for their high quality. They are justly balanced between mineral expression and ripe fruit. These are full-bodied wines that capture the full measure of Burgundy melon and the typicity of local terroirs. Vinified for several months on lees, they reveal exotic, vegetal and fresh aromas, as well as great minerality.
The Domaine de Bellevue also offers Billes de Quartz sparkling wine, made using the traditional method, also known as méthode champenoise. It's a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It seduces with its delicately rosy color and vibrant texture. Domaine de Bellevue's Billes de Quartz sparkling wine delivers notes of small red berries and peach, giving it great character.
