Semi-dry, sweet or syrupy, Coteaux du Layon wines have subtle aromas of honey and acacia acquired through over-ripening. Their aging capacity is astonishing. The 1964 vintage was quite good, but very irregular for both reds and whites, with capricious weather playing on the owners' nerves. We had to choose the right window of opportunity to harvest.
