The Castle of Guimonière covers an area of 19 hectares, 16 hectares planted with Chenin Blanc, Coteaux du Layon, and 3 hectares of red vines of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These vines overlooking the Layon on land composed of shale and sandstone, facing south. They are awakening to the fall in the morning fog and then be warmed by the sun, and benefiting from a micro climate ideal for the development of harvest ripened. The 16 hectares of Chenin Blanc can produce according to climatology and ripeness an Anjou Blanc and Coteaux du Layon Chaume. On 3 hectares planted with red grapes, Alain Château produces a Red Anjou and Cabernet d'Anjou.
