The winemaker

The Saumur terroir is planted on Huronian limestone soils. The Château de Fosse-Sèche vineyard is planted on Jurassic soil, which contains no free limestone but iron oxide and flint. Several grape varieties are grown in the Château de Fosse-Sèche vineyard. For red wines: 8 hectares of Cabernet Franc and 1 hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon. For white wines: 5.5 hectares of Chenin and 0.5 hectare of Chardonnay. All wines are organic.
