The domaine pierre talayrach is located in a small roussillon village, pézilla-la-rivière, a few kilometers west of perpignan. The vineyard plots cover 12 hectares in a particularly ideal location: south-facing, sheltered from the tramontane wind, on terraces and semi-slopes on arid clay soil covered with rounded pebbles. The estate cultivates native grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Muscat d'Alexandrie, as well as a few varieties from different terroirs, such as Viognier, Chardonnay and Merlot. Harvesting is entirely manual, and the location of the plots around the winery means that the grape varieties can be blended in the vat on the day of harvest.
