The winemaker

Swept by the Tramontane, the vineyards are planted on the Pliocene hills typical of the Aspres terroir, whose sandy, filtering soils quickly dry out. Remarkably, some of Lauriga's vines are planted on ancient terraces with very stony soil, in the form of pebbles that warm up quickly and whose virtues have always been appreciated by the ancients. The diversity of its terroir enables the elaboration of a subtle palette of wines. Château Lauriga makes a point of respecting the environment by preserving biodiversity and the people who tend the vines. When the land was restructured in the 1990's, planting was defined in relation to the path of the sun (so that photosynthesis subtly serves the aromatic palette) and the direction of the Tramontane, to avoid wood-breaking injuries.
