The winemaker

The history of the estate

The history of the vineyard goes back to 936, when wine activity is first recorded in Langlade in the Gard. The Edgard Dufès successor family has been able to leave its mark on history and has inherited a high cultured winemaking identity, as well as a rich and renowned terroir.

No less than Louis XIV and Thomas Jefferson had the pleasure of tasting and enjoying these wines.

A domain of enthusiasts and poets

According to the illustrious Maurice Chauvet, Langlade is not only a great food wine that we enjoy tasting, but it is a wine of poetry, philosophers and lovers. The wine owes its aromatic richness and voluptuousness to ancient techniques and passionate work on the land, giving it so much of that taste of the wines of yesteryear.

In the vineyards, the soil is worked with a plow and the harvest is done by hand, like an embroidery of nature. When the Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Viognier grapes enter the vats, no yeast is added, only the endemic yeasts are involved.

From this meticulous work come two wines of surprising quality and intoxicating fidelity to tradition.

The Langlade rouge offers a bright, brilliant red color. Its subtlety is due in part to the lack of alcoholic violence typically found in the region. Perfect with fine cuts of beef at a sunny lunch, this wine will leave your guests with the memory of a perfect union.

The Langlade white stands out for its finesse and aromatic richness. Very mineral, its freshness allows it to be served as an aperitif and with a wide variety of fish or white meats.
