(90 customer reviews)
Domaine Lafage is a family estate dating back to 1798. Its vineyards stretch from the shores of the Mediterranean to the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the heart of Roussillon. It is divided into three distinct terroirs representing the nuances of the Roussillon soils. The latest heir to the Lafage family, Jean-Marc, is an independent winemaker who happily shares his passion with us. Find out more

The winemaker

The history of the Lafage estate

The Lafage family have been winegrowers for over two centuries. Before taking over the family estate, Jean-Marc Lafage and his wife, Éliane, not only studied oenology, but also went on to discover other practices and know-how in wine-growing regions far from their Catalonia home. They took part in harvests and vinifications in Australia, the United States (California), Latin America and South Africa.

Returning to France in 1996, they took over the family lands, scattered between Canet en Roussillon, Maury and Perpignan. In 2001, the entire Lafage estate came under their responsibility. In 2006, they bought Mas Miraflors.

The Lafage estate vineyard

The Lafage Estate vineyards cover the southernmost part of France. The Catalan farmhouse, built of stone dating back to the 15th century, dominates the road leading from Perpignan to the Mediterranean coast. From here, you can admire Mount Canigou, with a spectacular view of the sea. The vineyards of the Lafage estate include some fifteen grape varieties, some of which are over a hundred years old. It extends over 350 hectares across Roussillon, covering an area from the Mediterranean shores at Canet en Roussillon, through Maury to the Pyrenean foothills of the Aspres.

Some wines from the Lafage estate

The wines of the Lafage estate are numerous and cover a very wide range. Here is a selection of the most emblematic.

The red wine Côté Sud - IGP Côtes Catalanes

Domaine Lafage's Coté Sud is made from Syrah and Grenache noir grapes. It boasts an elegant garnet-red color. Its intense nose develops red fruit aromas, with spicy notes. Côté Sud is the perfect accompaniment to meat and grilled meats.

Cadireta white wine - IGP Côtes Catalanes

Made from Chardonnay aged on Viognier grape pomace, Cadireta has a brilliant straw-yellow color with fine green highlights. With an intense nose of ripe fruit and a full, structured palate, it will enhance your charcuterie and cheese platter. It's also ideal with paella.

Miraflors rosé wine - IGP Côtes Catalanes

A blend of 50% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache Gris and 20% Grenache Noir, Domaine Lafage Miraflors rosé wine has a pale pink color. The nose is fresh, mineral and subtly iodized. The palate is fine, both fruity and spicy. Ideal for aperitifs, it also works wonders alongside sushi and shrimp.

Maury Grenat sweet wine - AOP Maury Grenat

Domaine Lafage's Maury Grenat sweet wine is a benchmark in Roussillon. Made exclusively from Grenache Noir grapes, it's tasty and delicious. It's the perfect accompaniment to cocoa and chocolate desserts.

The Triple Rosé bubbly wine

Domaine Lafage also offers sparkling wines. Triple Rosé is full of fruity aromas, with a round, fresh mouthfeel. It goes equally well with aperitifs and desserts.
