The winemaker

Characteristics of the Domaine La Bouysse terroir and vineyard

The Domaine is located in Saint André de Roquelongue, Aude, in the southern part of the Languedoc vineyards. It benefits from the mild Mediterranean Sea, sunny soils and a mixed clay-limestone and sandy sandstone subsoil. The grape varieties used for the reds are grenache, carignan, mourvèdre and syrah, and for the whites grenache blanc, chardonnay, muscat à petits grains, viognier, vermentin, carignan blanc and maccabeu. For the past ten years, the estate has been committed to organic farming.

The wines of Domaine La Bouysse

Domaine La Bouysse produces IGP Aude Hauterive (red, white, rosé), AOP Corbières (red, white, rosé) and Grand Cru AOP Boutenac (red). The white Corbières wines are very light and fruity, while the reds are spicier, slightly tannic and velvety. In the Boutenac Grands Crus, Mazérac, aged for twelve months in oak barrels, is recommended, with a preference for the 2012 and 2017 vintages.
