The winemaker
Domaine Grand Guilhem is a 12-hectare estate with buildings dating back to the 19th century. Located 25 km from the Mediterranean Sea and 40 km from Perpignan and Carcassonne, the estate is renowned for the quality of its organic wines.
Located in the Corbières region, 25 km from the Mediterranean, Domaine Grand Guilhem is much more than a wine-growing area. It's a veritable tourist zone, with bed & breakfasts and charming gîtes set in a 19th-century house next to its 8.8 ha of vines. The house owes the quality of its wines above all to a traditional, manual production technique. No yeast or sulfites are used. The wines are left to mature naturally. This ensures a certain depth.
To produce these organic wines, Domaine Grand Guilhem relies above all on schist soils. Perched between 200 and 300 meters above sea level, the vines grow on steep slopes. Benefiting from 339 days of sunshine, the vines ripen naturally before being hand-picked.
Since its inception, Domaine Grand Guilhem has made a name for itself in particular with its Cuvée Angles 2019. This is a bottle made from a skilful blend of 80% Carignan and 20% Grenache that will be vinified in barrels. It will offer an intense, flavorful taste that will accompany you perfectly in your moments of relaxation or your receptions. Throughout the estate, oenologists will recognize both white and red grape varieties. Macabeo, Grenache blanc, Mourvèdre, Grenache noir, Grenache gris, Carignan, ... This is how the estate is able to produce quality wines.
