The winemaker

The field is located in the Cottebrune Faugerois on shale hillsides. The planting of the vineyard is for red varieties, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Grenache, and for white varietals Roussanne, Vermentino and Grenache Blanc. The peculiarity of the area is to be composed of two parcels cleared hillsides, source of freshness and minerality, thanks to shale basements. The field of Cottebrune is run by a big name of the Cotes du Rhone, Pierre Gaillard. With this vineyard, he launched the challenge to highlight the terroir of Languedoc, having sublimated the vineyards of Côte Rôtie and Banyuls. Pierre Gaillard takes the field Cottebrune on cities and Caberolles Caussiniojoules since 2007. The vineyard covers 10 hectares on hills which represent the first rise of the Massif Central on the full Beziers. The field of Cottebrune its name because of the brown shale that make up the soil of the land. The altitude of the vineyards allows the wines to be subtle, fresh and healthy, while having the amplitude and gluttony characteristics of the region.
