domaine thunevin-calvet was born in 2001, when jean-luc thunevin, owner of château valandraud in st emilion, met jean-roger calvet, a young winemaker from the maury terroir. The first vintages were vinified in a village garage, before the estate gradually expanded to its current size of around 60 hectares, composed of schistose marl from maury and granite from lesquerde.

The first nose is discreet, with a hint of menthol, followed by a second, richly spicy, black cherry-dominated fruit.
