Domaine Vial Magneres has been a family-run estate for 4 generations, cultivating around 10 hectares. The vines are planted on the traditional terraced vineyards of the area, and are harvested entirely by hand. The soils are essentially composed of decomposing Cambrian schist. Grenache dominates (90%). Yields are low. Vinification is traditional, with temperature control for all cuvees. Collioure, Banyuls Blanc and Rimage are matured in a reducing environment. The other Banyuls are matured in an oxidative environment. The estate has 60,000 vines, and renews 1,200 to 1,500 each year.
