The winemaker
Laurent, Paul and Patrick Reverdy manage the estate and are committed to preserving the traditions and excellence of the wines their family has been producing for centuries.
The vineyard is planted on an exceptional terroir, unique in the region. It is in fact made up of reliefs and stretches over a narrow 7 km terrace composed of alluvial deposits made by a powerful river a million years ago and now extinct. They have in fact been preserved by the particular exposure of these lands, benefiting from a microclimate and the protection of the sandstone hills of Boutenac.
The terroir also features rolled pebbles, sandstone, limestone and silt. The plots are sunny, with good eastern exposure, and the estate benefits from a Mediterranean climate mixed with sea breezes, which favors the concentration of sugars in the grapes.
The estate's two main grape varieties are traditional indigenous to the region. Carignan accounts for half of the vineyard and Grenache for 25%. They are complemented by other grape varieties introduced more recently to the vineyard: Syrah and Mourvèdre. For white wines, Château La Voulte Gasparets uses Maccabeu, Marsanne, Roussanne and Rolle.
The vines have an average age of 35 years, but the estate also boasts some century-old towns.
The estate offers a full range of wines, with three reds, three whites and one rosé. Château La Voulte Gasparets wines have received numerous awards over the years, and are renowned for their finesse and complex aromatic profile. The finest restaurants offer cuvées from the estate.
