The winemaker

The relief of Andrew, and Suzette GP, pharmacist, was provided by their children, John, village doctor like his father in Moux, and his wife Anne, Paul, dentist, and Genevieve, biological pharmacist. But the bonds of Lignères Family with the world of wine back to the 16th century in the villages of Fontcouverte and Moux. Louis Lignères founded in 1890 Wines house and it is in 1957 that André and Suzette Lignères are acquiring Baroness. Since then, the field has expanded on the most interesting terroirs of the Alaric mountain. The family then acquired the Domaine Las Vals in the late 80s and 90s and Plo Domain Maorou in 2006 in partnership with the Jackson family. Throughout this period, the advice of Marc Dubernet contributed to the development of the wines of the family estate. In 2002, Richard Marlowe, a "fan" of the estate wines, organizes a meeting with the Italian consultant Stefano Chioccioli. Since that meeting, the bonds of friendship and trust were created between family and Stefano, with the aim to introduce the complexity of the terroirs of the Alaric Mountain. Alaric Mountain is a region where all geological eras are represented. This is a huge limestone mass, wide reservoir for groundwater that emerge Fontcouverte at a temperature of 18-22 ° C. The vineyard of "Baroness" is located between 100 and 200m above sea level on limestone tertiary and quaternary formations of marine origins or clayey sandstone, fluvial or lacustrine, where a wide variety of soils.
