The winemaker

A history of taste going back four centuries

Maison Giraud has been established in the splendid terroir of Aÿ since 1625. From generation to generation, the estate has grown from strength to strength. Over the years, unrivalled expertise has been passed down unaltered, making Henri Giraud one of the few producers to fully preserve the traditions of great champagne wines.

An exceptional terroir fully valorized

The Argonne forest has a special link with the world of Champagne wine. For a very long time, this wine was matured in barrels made from trees grown in this great forest. In the 20th century, this tradition was replaced by more modern techniques. Maison Giraud has revived this tradition, giving its wines an uncommon authenticity. In this way, the exceptional Pinot Noir d'Aÿ, a rare Grand Cru, releases its aromas like nowhere else.

The wines

Henri Giraud cuvées, aged in wood, offer exceptional "fatness" to a unique Pinot noir. A case in point is the divine Cuvée Argonne, one of the appellation's greatest references. However, the spirit of the Giraud house is evident from the very first bubbles of Cuvée Esprit, and even more so with Cuvées Hommage, Code noir (a highly distinctive Pinot noir rosé) and Fût de chêne multivintage.
