The winemaker

Our company is located in Ludes, a Premier Cru village in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. We cultivate 19 hectares, including the Grands Crus of Mailly-Champagne, Verzenay and Verzy, and the Premiers Crus of Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes, Montbré, Sermiers, Taissy and Villers-Allerand. We've been growing vines since the 19th century, and it was in 1929 that we began making our first sparkling Champagne wines. To ensure that our terroir expresses itself to the full in our cuvées, we have turned to sustainable viticulture that respects the soil and the vines. Fertilizers are only of natural origin, and treatments are targeted and reduced to a minimum. Always measured and thoughtful, our interventions are aimed at helping our vines to flourish. Our vineyard is certified HVE (High Environmental Value), attesting to our commitment to the environment. The care we take with our vineyards extends to our winemaking, which we aim to be as natural as possible. We intervene very little to let our terroirs and grape varieties express themselves. The wines are neither enzymed nor fined, to preserve their substance and aromas. We age our wines on lees in temperature-controlled vats until bottling. Blended with 40-50% reserve wines, our Champagnes gain in complexity and depth. The sparkling process takes a long time, and is carried out fifteen meters underground in our traditional cellars, where our Champagnes mature for between 30 months and 10 years, depending on the cuvée. After dosage, our wines are rested for a further 2 to 6 months before shipping. We push our standards beyond the Champagne Appellation.
