The winemaker
The history of EPC Champagne
The grandfather of Édouard Roy, the founder of EPC Champagne, participated in the creation of a small wine cooperative in the commune of Bethon in 1967. Today, it has several dozen winegrowers.
Anxious to give a less sacralized - and more accessible - image of champagne to young adults, Édouard Roy decided to create a new brand on the novel model of the startup. In June 2019, he teamed up with Jérôme Queige, a former sales director of a major champagne house, and founded EPC Champagne.
Why EPC Champagne?
EPC stands for E Pluribis Champanum which comes from the Latin phrase "E Pluribus unum" meaning Union is Strength.
The commitments of EPC Champagne
The management team of EPC Champagne has developed a charter that aims at the excellence of the products that are marketed. Total transparency on the elaboration of their vintages is the first requirement.
The bottles that bear the EPC Champagne label must contain a 100% traceable nectar, made from a single grape variety, Chardonnay, from a single terroir and a single year. The elaboration must include as few additives as possible, i.e. no excess sugar or sulfites. All EPC Champagne vintages have been awarded gold medals by the Gilbert & Gaillard Competition.
EPC Champagne partners
EPC Champagne works in partnership with the winemakers of the Champagne region. The vintages are entirely elaborated with the professionals who bring their know-how. Among them, David in Belval sous Châtillon, Bleuette in Bethon or Alain in Vindey.
The tasting in a blida
The EPC Champagne teams testing the nectar have rehabilitated the blida, a traditional Champagne glass, rather than using a cup or flute.
When to drink EPC Champagne
EPC Champagne wanting to be the future of champagne, while preserving the traditions, the wine is always made in the purest champagne tradition. The little technological plus? A heat-sensitive tablet that indicates when the bottle is cool enough to taste.

Blanc de Blancs extra brut - Magnum Premier Cru 2014
From the vineyards of the Sézannais hillsides, the Blanc de Blancs extra brut - Magnum 1er Cru 2014 is the product of berries from a group of winemakers in Bethon. Its bright color can be admired, in a cup, a flute or a blida, as EPC Champagne advises. It develops aromas of white fruits, like peach, and evokes fresh salted butter spread on a slice of bread. The Blanc de Blancs pairs wonderfully with baked salmon en papillote.
Rosé Premier Cru - Magnum Premier Cru 2014
EPC Champagne's Rosé Premier Cru - Magnum Premier Cru 2014 comes from the vineyards of Vertus. Its salmon pink color is crossed with flamboyant reflections. The wine gives off succulent aromas of very ripe raspberries. This very low sugar Extra Brut is perfect with sardines a la plancha.
