The winemaker

Terroir and vineyards of Guy Charbaut champagne


Pinot noir, Meunier and Chardonnay are the three grape varieties planted on the 20-hectare Champagne vineyard. Most of the vines are located around the Premier Cru villages of Mareuil-sur-Ay, Bisseuil and Avenay. The rest of the grapes are harvested in Vivier-sur-Artaut and Landreville. Champagne Guy Charbaut's vineyards are mainly planted with Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir, covering more than twenty hectares. The typicality of the estate's cuvées lies in the mono-varietal production made possible by the Champagne terroir. Aging lasts 5 to 6 years on average.

Alongside the classic "Sélection brute" and "Croquantine demi-sec", the family winemakers are also known for their vintages and blanc de noirs. Unmissable, the vieilles vignes brutes reserves and brut whites must be tasted at least once. In addition to these premium offerings, the winemakers are also known for their ratafias and marcs de champagne. Join them in rediscovering this sparkling beverage. Guy Charbaut offers several cuvées, including rosés and blancs de blancs, available in brut, extra-brut and demi-sec. The "croquantine", a classic demi-sec, has a rounded, sweet mineral taste, with fine effervescence. The "Cuvée de réserve" premier cru vieilles vignes, full-bodied and harmonious, will accompany your meals.
