The winemaker
The Producer
The founder, Cristian Senez, built his company on the foundation of a vocation, born from his father when he was very young. The latter worked as a letter carrier and had a passion for working with vines. He had planted a small vineyard of 80 ares on a land that he had cleared himself.
Cristian Senez acquired his first vines at the age of 18 and persevered for years despite the difficulties, to train, develop his experience and learn the trade. He will be cellar master at La Fontette, then he will elaborate his own vintages from his vines, from 1971, first for his own consumption, then for marketing.
His daughter Angélique and her husband came to work with him in 1990. The quality of the Senez champagnes allows them to receive numerous awards and distinctions. The family history continues with Marion who works with her parents since 2019, after studies in the wine industry.
A reasoned viticulture
For over 30 years, the estate has been conducted with respect for nature and the environment. The practices of the Cristian Senez house have received the High Environmental Value certification. The team works in a permanent search for improvement of the methods implemented on the vineyard.
Thus, the HACCP charter was implemented in 2016 to promote a constant improvement of practices and allow a precise traceability of all the champagnes produced. The vinification is conducted without malolactic fermentation.
The practices implemented blend the best of tradition with modern technological tools. The installations see stainless steel vats and traditional presses side by side and allow the elaboration of excellent vintages year after year.
The iconic vintages
The estate offers a vintage range crafted by the company's founder and offers fresh, gourmet champagnes of fine quality at prices that remain reasonable.
Grande réserve 2005 is a cuvée made from a blend of three-quarters Pinot Noir and one-quarter Chardonnay. It is a honey-yellow colored champagne with a generous aromatic bouquet of almonds, stewed yellow fruits and candied apricots.
Brut Nature is a perfect cuvée to accompany a seafood platter. This pure and fresh champagne offers aromas of vine peach and lemony notes
The Renoir Cuvée is made from a blend of half Chardonnay and half Pinot Noir. Its floral aromas with notes of acacia flower and lily mingle with red fruit flavors to produce a light, delicate champagne that has been distinguished with eight awards and mentions in prestigious guides.
Carte Blanche is a 100% pinot noir cuvée with a strong personality. The nose is floral with notes of jasmine and orange blossom, and it offers fresh, gourmet fruit aromas.
