The winemaker

The history of the estate


Champagne Beaudouin-Latrompette is a family Champagne House created by the 7th generation of winegrowers in the Beaudouin family: Florence and Francis. Faithful to its heritage, Champagne Beaudouin-Latrompette perpetuates the know-how acquired by previous generations, while improving its cultivation practices to minimize its impact on the environment. Farm certified "Viticulture Durable en Champagne" and "Haute Valeur Environnementale".

The estate covers 6 ha of vines planted with Chardonnay on the Nogent l'Abbesse terroir, and Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier on the Boursault and Vauciennes terroirs.

House commitments


We are committed to sustainable viticulture, in which we implement a maximum of prophylactic measures to reduce the use of phytosanitary products. And we strive for continuous training to improve our cultivation practices. We carry out non-traumatic pruning and curettage of vines affected by esca disease.

We haven't used insecticides for over 20 years, and in recent years we've also stopped using herbicides. We now work our soils according to the characteristics of each plot and the year's climatic conditions, using specific tools. We favor grassing in the rows whenever possible, and we also sow green manures in winter to preserve and stimulate the biological activity of our soils.

Wine-making


All our wines undergo malolactic fermentation, tangential filtration and tartaric stabilization by chilling. We attach great importance to the use of reserve wines in our non-vintage cuvées, to bring roundness to our wines. For our cuvée Or du temps, we vinify and age our marcs in tuns, using a strict plot selection (old vines on south-facing slopes, low yields).
