The winemaker

A Wine House of excellence

Vincent Giradin was born into a family of winegrowers whose origins date back to the 17th century. At the age of 19, he inherited two hectares of vines and decided to produce his own wine. The quality of his cuvées soon earned him a worldwide reputation for excellence, and he concentrated his efforts on producing white and red Grands Vins in the Côte de Beaune.

From the 2000s onwards, to meet the high demand for wines bearing his signature, he further reoriented his business and bought his grapes from winegrowers sharing his expertise and working on the finest Burgundy terroirs. From then on, he concentrated on winemaking and producing exceptional wines with pure style.

In 2012, he sold his business to Mr. Nié, with whom he had worked for several years. The business continues with the same team and the same philosophy. Today, Maison Vincent Giradin produces fine wines from prestigious appellations, exclusively from grapes grown using sustainable agriculture on five Grands Crus and numerous plots in Premiers Crus and Vieilles Vignes.

Valuing viticulture that respects terroirs and people

The grapes used to make each Vincent Giradin wine must be grown according to precise principles: ploughing the soil, using natural local composts, no chemicals, high trellising and hand-picking with double sorting on the vine and in the vat.

These requirements allow for a drastic selection, and the vinification is then carried out using the most natural practices possible. These traditional methods are used in modern, high-quality facilities to produce wines that express the full beauty of the terroirs from which they come.

After testing numerous techniques, Vincent Girardin believes that winemaking should involve as little intervention as possible to allow the best expression of the specificities and complexity of each terroir.

Vincent Girardin's signature wines

Maison Vincent Giradin offers an exceptional list of Grands Crus and Grands Vins. The company's original philosophy is guaranteed by current winemaker Eric Germain, who worked with Vincent Girardin for over 10 years before the company was sold. He continues the work of excellence for which Vincent Girardin wines are renowned.

Fine, pure white wines with a beautiful aromatic palette

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a white wine made from 50-year-old vines. It's a powerful, complex wine with great smoothness, revealing its potential with time and offering aromas of spice, honey and dried fruit, with hints of warm croissant and butter.

Cuvée Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru Quintescence is made from vines grown on a high-altitude plot that give this white wine power, freshness and minerality.

Elegant, fruity red wines

Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a balanced, racy and elegant red wine with rich aromas of musk, blackberries and cherries.

Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru is a powerful, well-balanced and highly colored white wine from the Côte de Nuits, with intense aromas of red and black berries and more animal notes of fur and musk.
