In a few words ...
In Burgundy, at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, the 392 ha of the Santenay appellation are planted on the first slopes of Mont-de-Sène. A region of history and tradition, the area's first human settlements date back to prehistoric times, while the Château de Santenay, also known as Château Philipe le Hardi, still bears witness to the terroir's attachment to the Dukes of Burgundy. The etymo... logical origins of the commune date back to Roman times, when it was famous for its thermal waters and its "Santinae aquae" spring, which translates as "healing waters". Planted on the slopes of Mont-de-Sène at an average altitude of XXX, our plot enjoys a south-easterly exposure. The brown soils are composed of hard, grayish limestone at the top of the slope, and oolitic on the lower slopes, on a marly geological layer.
