In a few words ...

The irancy appellation produces red wines made from pinot noir, with the option of adding up to 10% of the appellation's traditional grape variety, césar. This grape variety, rich in tannin, gives these wines an interesting personality. It adds a vigorous color. Irancy has a very fruity bouquet with notes of blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry, as well as floral and pepper aromas. Thanks to their acidity, Irancy wines are ideal for laying down.

The 1996 vintage produced some very fine wines. The wines are hard to start with, but age very well. The sunshine in September perfected the ripening of the grapes.

It's an excellent vintage.
