History of the domain
A great story for a great estate... This is how one might describe the history of Domaine Trapet. It all began in 1870, when Louis Trapet fell under the spell of this the charm of this land, decided to settle. As you may have guessed, Louis Trapet is actually Jean-Louis' great-great-grandfather. In laying the foundations, he began a titanic work which would also benefit his successors...
One of them, Pierre-Arthur, played a major role in the estate's development. estate. In fact, it was largely thanks to him that the estate's reputation the estate. An attentive producer
It's a new dimension for Jean-Louis Trapet and his children, who are very involved in the family family project. To meet the ever-increasing demand for quality demand, our protagonist has had to produce cuvées that are right up to the neck excellence. A rigorous worker, Jean-Louis Trapet is both sensitive and attentive to the needs of his vines and the natural world around him. In the vineyard as in the cellar, it is biodynamic spirit that dominates!
His vineyard, planted on 19 hectares, enables him to produce around 65,000 bottles a year. They take full advantage of Burgundy's two flagship grape varieties: chardonnay (2 hectares) and pinot noir (17 hectares). These varieties are grown on world-renowned terroirs: Chambertin, Latricières Chambertin, Marsannay and La Chapelle- Chambertin.
Receiving rave reviews from tasters, Jean-Louis Trapet has quite simply elevated this as one of the standard-bearers of Burgundy winegrowing. Critics and other newspapers are full of enthusiasm when it comes to "Trapet magic". Finesse, freshness, elegance, dynamism... These are just a few of the words that come to mind tasting. In short, all the cuvées seem to be successful and constantly surpass expectations vintage after vintage. It's easy to see why some people call it an incomparable experience...
