The winemaker

A family estate for six generations, located in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Famous for its great white wines and a few supple, soft and elegant reds. "To preserve all the different characters of our wines, we start by taking great care in the vineyards. During the vinification process, we also carry out numerous controls." The entire Domaine Matrot vineyard was converted to organic farming in 2000. Maintenance techniques, respect for the soil and the plant, and maturing the wines in oak barrels for a year, give the wines a purity of fruit and a terroir character. "Intervening as little as possible in the vines to let the wine express itself in the cellar without manipulation or make-up". Thierry Matrot, a descendant of the family, works with his wife Pascale. Their daughters, Adèle and Elsa, have joined them to keep the family estate going. Today, they work together, remaining the guarantors of quality in vine cultivation, vinification, wine ageing and marketing.
