The winemaker
The history of Domaine Roulot
The origins of Domaine Roulot date back to the late 18th century. The estate is family-owned. It has been run since 1989 by Jean-Marc Roulot. He took over from his father, Guy, who raised the estate to its current remarkable level of excellence.
Domaine Roulot is one of Burgundy's most prestigious white wine producers.
The Roulot family is also proud to present its century-old still, with which it produces fruit brandies, liqueurs, Fine and Marc de Bourgogne.
The Domaine Roulot vineyard
The Domaine Roulot vineyard covers 15.5 hectares. 14.5 hectares are planted to white grapes, with Chardonnay making up the vast majority at 94%, and the remaining 6% to Aligoté. The hectare reserved for red wine production is planted entirely with Pinot Noir.
The average age of the vines is 45 years. Average annual production at Domaine Roulot is 80,000 bottles.

Bourgogne Aligoté Blanc
Domaine Roulot's Bourgogne Aligoté Blanc is made entirely from the Aligoté grape variety. It is a wine of great freshness and fine vivacity. The color is a pure, dense yellow. The nose is bursting with fruit, dominated by citrus. There are also notes of cut hay. The fruit is repeated on the palate, with sweet buttery flavors that provide a fine balance with the fine acidity that emerges.
The Bourgogne Blanc Aligoté from Domaine Roulot contains assertive mineral notes that persist right through to its long finish.
Meursault 1er Cru Charmes - Blanc
Domaine Roulot's Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is made with the sole grape variety of Chardonnay. This is a great wine, with exceptional length. The nectar is round and fat, harboring various other flavors that blend and complement each other wonderfully. In particular, you'll recognize notes of vanilla and honey, as well as hints of dried fruit.
The Meursault 1er Cru appears rich and opulent. Its brilliant golden yellow color heralds a voluminous attack on the palate. The minerality is clearly present, accompanied by aromas of walnut, citrus and pear.
