The winemaker

The Rully appellation, prosperous before the 1914-1918 war, was subsequently abandoned due to the large number of winegrowers decimated during that war. Henri Jacqueson created the estate in 1946 from a few unplanted plots of land belonging to his ancestors. Paul JACQUESON came to assist his father in 1972 and gradually took over the reins of the estate. With great dedication, he continued his father's work, always striving for greater quality. As a result, the estate has built up a loyal clientele. Since 2006, Paul has handed over the reins to his daughter Marie, who strives to perpetuate the family know-how. And in 2015, his son Pierre also came to work at the estate. The next generation is assured. Today, the estate comprises 13 hectares, located mainly in Rully, but also in Mercurey and Bouzeron. The domaine produces 60% whites and 40% reds. After hand-harvesting, the wines are vinified in accordance with Burgundian traditions, then aged for 12 months, 100% in oak barrels, of which 20 to 25% are new.
