The winemaker
The Mongeard-Mugneret Estate: a history of time
To produce wines of excellence, Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret chooses patience. Fermentation in new barrels lasts from 18 to 22 months, reducing acidity and adding roundness and mellowness. After a few years' ageing in the domaine's cellars, the wines can finally be enjoyed. This work, from harvest to ageing, allows the wines to reveal all their flavours.
The wines of Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret
The red wines, which make up the bulk of the domaine's production, are all made with Pinot Noir, except for the Bourgogne Passe-tout-grain, which is a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. The Bourgogne Blancs produced at Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret are made from Chardonnay grapes. Bourgogne Aligoté is a white wine made from the grape variety of the same name.
