The winemaker

The story of an instigating family

The history of the estate is none other than that of Charles Joblot's perseverance. As founder of the estate, he transformed a simple berry farm into a winegrowing estate. Thanks to his determination, these wines have gone from strength to strength, first in quality, then in reputation. It was his work to create the Givry appellation, recognized in 1946, that proved the value of the land in which he had invested so much to create wines still unknown to the general public. His descendants have perpetuated his work over the generations through his son, Marc, then his grandsons, Vincent and Jean-Marc, and the latter's daughter, Juliette. The first gave the estate its freedom, emancipating himself from the trading systems of the time to market his cuvées independently. A true avant-gardist, he built the estate's reputation on his innovations, particularly in terms of planting. Subsequent generations have worked to give the estate's wines a recognizable style. Through their rigor and dedication, they have produced wines of great purity that are the envy of many estates.

The philosophy of respect for the earth

The Domaine Joblot vineyard is run according to the principles of viticulture raisonnée. The house's low-intervention method allows the grapes to ripen naturally thanks to the gentle Burgundy sunshine and the nutrients naturally present in the soils. Great attention is paid to the vines throughout the growing cycle and at all key moments to guarantee the purity of the fruit. Harvesting takes place when the berries reach optimum ripeness, to ensure a high concentration of flavors in the grapes. The winemaking process is then carried out in a straightforward manner, with meticulous supervision but minimal intervention. This avoids any alteration in the process that could denature the fruit's aromas. The wine is then aged in barrels to bring out subtle woody notes, but without ever compromising the wine's purity.

Unique clos for exceptional wines

Spread over 14 hectares of clos delimited in the Burgundian style, the Domaine Joblot vineyard holds in its hands the ability to create unique wines, witnesses to the diversity of Burgundy's terroirs. The company's white wines are surprisingly deep, coming as they do from old vines, while the reds are astonishing for their velvety tannins and floral, black-fruit aromas. The aromatic power and structure of the house wines guarantee great ageing potential, enabling wine-lovers to rediscover their favorite cuvées over the years.
