Jan HERESZTYN, arrived in 1932 in northern France to work in the mines, then in the fields... in Burgundy. He eventually settled permanently in Gevrey-Chambertin, feeling more accepted than in other villages on the Côte. By dint of hard work and savings, he began by acquiring a few plots of vines, eventually acquiring 4 hectares in 1959.
