The winemaker

Domaine Ferret is located in the heart of Fuissé and produces the appellation's historic cuvées. Founded in 1840, it was the first estate to bottle its own wines just after the Second World War. In addition, the emphasis placed on certain terroirs through parcel-based vinification enabled the early identification of climates considered the finest: Tête de Cru and Hors Classe, a precursory model for the appellation. Managed by Jeanne, then Colette Ferret for over half a century, it now belongs to Maison Louis Jadot, which wishes to continue this work in the same spirit and with the same rigor. The estate's vines cover a total of 17 hectares in the Pouilly Fuissé appellation (including 13 in the amphitheatre of Fuissé and 4 near the Roche de Vergisson). The terroirs are remarkably well-situated, and the age of the vines combined with reasonable yields enable us to produce Cuvées d'Exception. The estate uses integrated viticultural methods, and is currently working towards even more environmentally-friendly viticulture. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted in the vineyard.
