The winemaker

Emmanuel Rouget began working with his uncle Henry Jayer in 1979. In 1985, the nephew produced his first wine, before gradually taking over the vineyards of the emblematic Vosne-Romanée winemaker, who died in 2006 - including the famous Cros Parantoux. The cultivation methods are those he learned from him: short pruning and reasoned yields. In the cellar, the emphasis is on respecting healthy grapes, without over-ripening, in order to preserve the freshness and acidity of the Pinot. Emmanuel Rouget is undoubtedly the only true heir to the Jayer style, the quest for fine, elegant, racy wines, with intense fruit and growing complexity over time. Since 2002, he has been ageing his wines longer on lees, without racking. The wines have gained in thickness and depth.
