The winemaker
The Bzikot estate, tradition and modernity
Sylvain Bzikot has created an estate of his own, but follows in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who arrived from Poland in the 1940s. He farms 15 hectares spread over Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, Auxey-Duresses and Volnay. Sylvain Bzikot has learned from his elders, while imposing his own style.
Authentic, straightforward wines
Among the white wines, Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Les Folatières" is a flagship of the appellation. Mineral attack, length and opulent finish on notes of almond for this straightforward Chardonnay. Volnay's red wines are characterized by elegance. This is a charming, concentrated Pinot Noir, with mellow tannins that linger on the palate.
