This chassagne-montrachet "cailleret" is one of the finest premier crus from the chartron family. The mastery of the terroir and winemaking of this cru is total. The soil is rich in limestone and various types of pebbles, which is how it got its name. This is also what gives this elite cuvée its mineral splendor. The magic of its big brothers, Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, is close at hand. This 2015 has a limpid gold color and a nose of flinty aromas enhanced by floral notes. The chiselled palate and excellent length suggest that it will keep for a long time. 100% Chardonnay. Beautiful parcel located west of the village. Clay-limestone soil. 70% of production aged on lees in 1-, 2- and 3-wine oak barrels, the remaining 30% in new barrels. Aged for 15 years.
