The Grand Cru Valmur parcel is harvested by hand, as are all our 1ers Crus and Grands Crus. We generally start the harvest with our Grand Crus, as their grapes ripen earlier thanks to ideal exposure to the sun. We vinify our Grand Cru Valmur in 500-liter oak barrels. To preserve the quintessence of our Grand Cru Val- mur, we intervene as little as possible during this period, during which the cuvée spends 18 months in barrel. In general, these barrels have undergone 5 or 6 vintages, so as to support the evolution of the new vintage through delicate oxygenation. Finally, the wine is bottled 20 to 24 months after harvest, without being chilled to preserve all its aromas.
Aroma
The Grand Cru Valmur develops fruity, rounded aromas, less marked by the clay-limestone subsoil.
Taste
This wine has a robust, powerful character, less dry than its neighbor, the Grand Cru Les Clos.
